Two Quinte Area companies and one person have been fined for Ministry of the Environment offences.
Rancor Wood Recycling of Belleville was fined ten-thousand dollars, and President Randy Corfield two-thousand dollars.
They pled guilty to depositing waste on a Blessington Road property, for which a Certificate of Approval as a waste disposal site hadn’t been issued, and they were ordered to remove the waste by May of next year.
Essroc Canada of Picton was fined 17-thousand dollars for two counts of constructing and operating an ammonia addition system on one of its process lines without a Certificate.
