They know they’re there….but, no unexploded bombs or munitions were found in surface sweeps of Baldhead Beach on Weller’s Bay this summer. Much to the dismay of local beachgoers…the sandy beach has been posted as off limits because of the possibility of UXO’s below the surface. Project Manager Gilles Belley says no unexploded devices were found in surface sweeps in July. Belley says it’s a balancing act on how to remove the UXO’s because they don’t want to cause irreparable damage to the Canadian Wildlife site.
