A first in Canada for Habitat for Humanity as the organization builds its first straw-bale home in Picton. Spokesperson Melanie Flynn says the straw-bale construction provides better insulation than the regular kind. She says it’s also good for the environment since it cuts down on the carbon footprint. Flynn, who appeared on Newsmaker Sunday yesterday, says a family with five little girls will move into the house on Barker street.
