Prisoners are enjoying a few more normal activities at Warkworth Institution, but the prison is still under semi-lockdown.
Assistant Warden Ann Anderson says limited visiting, on Saturdays and Sundays, began last weekend, and will continue this weekend.
Modified outdoor recreation activities were made available early this week, and the dining room was opened to prisoners yesterday.
The prison was put in lockdown mode after 200 inmates refused to return to their cells on the evening of July 21st. The protest, which ended the next day, resulted in one inmate dying, fires being set in the recreation yard and several inmates breaking into the health care centre.
