While five property owners in Belleville’s east end fought expropriation of their lands…others WANT the city to step in. Brenda Schinzel says she has lived in her Airport Parkway home for 34-years. She’s says she’ll be surrounded by industrial land once the expropriation is complete and her house will drop in value. Manager of Economic Development Karen Poste says even if the city doesn’t acquire more land…the remaining residences would be protected by buffering and other procedures. . Poste says City Council would probably make a decsion on any further land deals in the area in about six months.
