Some sobering stats from the OPP as we head toward the last long weekend of summer. The police agency reports 42 people have died on OPP patrolled highways in Eastern Ontario this summer….compared to 36 fatal collisions last year. and, they say alcohol related driving deaths are up to 11 this summer….compared to 4 last year. Central Hastings OPP say officers will be targeting aggressive drivers this Labour day weekend in an effort to keep all motorists safe.
