Despite a good turnout from ratepayers opposed to the move….Centre Hastings council voted last night to build a new municipal hall in downtown Madoc. Many residents, mostly from the former Huntingdon Township, opposed the location and even the need for the 900-thousand dollar building. The municipality has recieved one-third funding for the project from the Federal Government and is waiting for similar funding announcment from the Province.The current municipal building in Ivanhoe will be renovated and become a community hall.
