The Belleville man leading the charge to block a strip bar from setting up again across from the Via Station is taking to the streets. Jim Hillier says he’ll be setting up outside the Doc’s Hotel property with his petition in hand for people to sign every weekend until the end of September. Hillier says it is not a good fit with children in the area. Owners of the old hotel plan to open a Russian-Portuguese restaurant on the main floor with exotic dancing on the upper floor. Council re-instated the former bylaw allowing adult entertainment at the former Doc’s Palace last week. Hillier says he’ll be at the property Saturdays and Sundays from 9-til-1 for the next six weekends.
