A strip club….closed for a numer of years in Belleville…will live again thanks to a decision by Belleville Council. An out-of-town group plans to resurrect the former Doc’s Palace on Station Street. Plans call for an exotic Russian-Portugese fine-dining restaurant on the main floor, a hotel and adult entertainment above. The operators would be from Russia and Portugal. Last night a spokesman told council they don’t want to “make a commotion, just make the city grow.” Councillor Taso Christopher says since the site has been vacant for a number of years it was an opportunity to move the adult entertainment designation to an industrial park. On a six to three vote, Council adopted the previous bylaw allowing the present three sites, including Docs on station street, but called for a review of zoning and licensing.
