A lockdown that began over a week ago at Millhaven Institution, southeast of Napanee, is over.
Assistant Warden Wendy Smith says the restrictions on visits and regular programs for the prisoners were lifted this morning.
The lockdown was implemented after a staff member found a home made weapon in one of the ranges in the assessment unit on July 27th.
Smith says a few more weapons were found in some of the cells, where the prisoners were confined throughout the lockdown, although she wouldn’t elaborate on what kind.
