It wil soon be easier for visually and hearing impaired residents to ride Belleville’s buses.
City Council has decided to buy an automated audible and visual “stop” announce system for the city’s fourteen buses. Transit chair Councillor Jack Miller says it’s the right time to do it since the province is expected to mandate it in a few years. The city will use 150-thousand from the provincial gas tax fund to buy the equipment.
