Another step today in getting more affordable housing in the Hastings-Quinte area.
The proposal for twenty new affordable units in Belleville and the same in Trenton is on track for a construction start this fall. The Joint Social Services committee has given its approval and the senior governments are expected to as well. The units are for seniors and the disabled. Spokesperson Michelle Ogden says another eighteen are spread across the county, in Deseronto, Coe Hill, Marmora, and Bancroft.
