Deseronto town council says residents shouldn’t be overly concerned about the number of foxes running around the community.
Council spent part of last night’s meeting discussing the animals, who have been spotted in growing numbers over the past month..
Councillor Donald McMeeken says a Tyendinaga Territory band council member told council he believes the foxes may be coming from the reserve, because of the removal of trees for construction projects.
McMeeken says town officials have been cutting down long grass where the foxes hide, and he hopes that will help reduce the population. Anyone concerned about foxes on their property should call Deseronto’s animal control officer.
