A swimmer is dead following an incident in the Haliburton Highlands.
Provincial police were called to attend a swimmer in distress Friday afternoon at Furnace Falls in Minden Hills.
Police say four boys had been swimming when one of them went under.
Police say the victim was held under by the current and did not surface until rescue crews pulled him from the water.
He was pronounced dead at Haliburton Hospital.
The victim’s name has not been released.
