This year the United Way of Quinte is emphasizing its service to the community. 2009 Campaign Chair Mark Philbin told city council last night that the United Way wants to emphasize it’s not just a fund-raising agency…but has some new initiatives the public should know about…such as the Day of Caring this Thursday when 80 employees from 14-companies will serve in the community. Philbin says he wants to raise the public awareness of the work of the United Way. Council declared September United Way month.
