It was quite a scene just north of the Bay Bridge in Belleville last evening. A two car crash on Dundas West, at 6:30, resulted in one of the drivers pleaded with the other not to call police and then attempt to drive off. The other driver grabbed the keys out of the ignition and a fight ensued resulting more than a dozen 9-1-1 calls. Once on scene, it was determined the driver was impaired and was taken into custody. The 48-year old also had a “life-time” driving prohibition. He’s been charged with impaired, refusing a breath sample, driving while prohibited and assault. A quantity of open liquor was also seized from the offending vehicle.
