Quinte West Council has declared Saturday, July 25th, as Gabby’s Wish Day.
On that day, members of the Kente Kiwanis, and others, will be asking for donations in various Quinte area locations, on behalf of 2 year old Gabby Strauss.
The little blonde girl is a victim of a very rare, and incurable disease, Cystinosis.
Pharmaceutical companies don’t focus on medicines for the disease, because only 2 thousand people are believed to suffer from it worldwide.
Cystinosis attacks and gradually destroys the body’s organs, including the eyes, and most people suffering from it don’t live in to their 40’s.
