The Ministry of Natural Resources has fined eight men, including three from Bancroft, thirty-thousand dollars for poaching moose.
The incident occured last October off Old Hastings Road, in Faraday township, south of Bancroft.
Richard Towle pleaded guilty in Bancroft court to unlawfully hunting a bull mooose and other offences, and will pay a six-thousand dollar penalty. Another Bancroft resident, Dean Card, pleaded guilty to other offences, and was fined two-thousand dollars..
Randy Wood pleaded guilty to making a false statement to a conservation officer and was fined four-thousand dollars. The other five men, who were fined almost 18-thousand of the 30-thousand dollars, were not from the local area.
