Belleville wants the province to ante up more money for the public library.
City council has joined a number of municipalities in calling for the provincial library grant to be increased to 15-percent of the annual revenue. Right now its at four-percent. In the original resolution, the town of Smiths Falls says libraries play a strong role in literacy, and an increasing role in technological and economic environment.
