Millions of dollars being poured into the City of Belleville. MP Daryl Kramp, and MPP Leona Dombrowsky have announced 11.6 million dollars from each of their respective governments for a twin pad arena/recreation/swimming complex for Belleville. The city will pay the other 11.8 million dollars on the 36 million dollar project to be located at the Quinte Sports Centre. Mayor Neil Ellis says the Dick Ellis and Memorial arenas would cost millions to fix up, and this complex makes good sense.
And there’s more funding for Belleville. The federal and provincial government will pay 2 thirds of the cost on an almost 2 million dollar upgrade to the Dundas West overhead bridge near Stream International.
Meanwhile, Belleville isn’t the only community receiving money from the federal and provincial governments for infrastructure in Prince Edward Hastings riding. A total of 29 communities will receive funding. And, local MP Daryl Kramp says no one should despair….there will be other rounds of funding announced. Between the federal, provincial, and municipal governments, 75 million dollars of infrastructure stimulus will be invested in Prince Edward Hastings riding in this wave.
