Belleville officials are looking into the latest escapades of convicted environmental criminal Jim Sinclair. Bylaw officers have been on the former Bakelite property where a salvage yard appears to be operating. City officials say a couple dozen old cars and a pile of scrap metal are on the site which isn’t zoned for such a business. Sinclair was convicted for numerous environmental offences for dredging the property and allowing PCB’s to flow into the Bay of Quinte. He’s currently appealing his 4-month jail sentence and nearly 700-thousand dollars in fines.
