It may be a little late…but it’s on budget. The 15-million dollar clean-up project, at Belleville’s Meyer’s Pier, is nearing completion and still on budget. The 230-spot parking lot has been paved. There’s some landscaping to be completed on the turf area. Director of recreation Mark Fluhrer says this area will be used for various events, including as a sports practice field. Testing of the pre-treatment facility for contaminated ground water on-site should be finished late in July, when the federal government will turn the entire project over to the city.
