Belleville has a huge hole to fill at City Hall. In a press release this morning…CAO Steve Hyndman announced his plans to retire by the end of 2009. Mayor Neil Ellis says Hyndman has been a tremendous asset to the city and it will be difficult to find an administrator with as stellar a reputation. Ellis says one of his greatest accomplishments is the blueprint he has laid for the City which will guide future Mayors and Councils. Hyndman was hired as the city’s Director of Development Services in 2000 and appointed CAO in 2004. Hyndman feels the City is positioned to deal with future challenges and become one of the strongest municipalities in Eastern Ontario. The City will begin the process to find a new CAO in the next month.
