The fifth person charged in connection with the death of a teenager at the Park Motel in Quinte West last year will be tried for first degree murder.
In a court appearance before Justice John Bonn in the Ontario Court of Justice on Monday, Aaron Ryan waived his preliminary hearing and consented to be committed to stand trial in the Superior Court of Justice on first degree murder.
His next court appearance is scheduled for March 7 to set a date for a judicial pre-trial.
Last week, four other people pleaded guilty to various charges ranging from obstructing justice to manslaughter in connection with the death of the 17-year-old male who died in a hotel room in January 2024.
