Winter weather travel advisory in effect.
What:
Snow, at times heavy, with total accumulations of 5 cm possible
Snowfall rate of 2 to 4 cm per hour
When: 3 P.M. to 7 P.M. this evening
Additional information:
A band of lake effect snow off Lake Ontario will affect the area late this afternoon to early this evening. The most affected areas will be along Highway 401 and near Lake Ontario.
Prepare for quickly changing and deteriorating travel conditions. Take extra care when walking or driving in affected areas. Slow down driving in slippery conditions. Watch for taillights ahead and maintain a safe following distance.
