More details are now known about the fatal crash northeast of Tweed Monday.
Central Hastings OPP, Tweed fire, and Hastings-Quinte Paramedics responded to the Flinton Road area of Highway 7 around 10:00 a.m.
A tractor trailer and car collided head-on, with the driver being ejected from the car.
Despite lifesaving efforts, the driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
The big rig driver did not suffer any serious injuries.
A 61-year-old person has been identified as the victim.
Highway 7 was closed for 11 hours while officers combed the scene.
The investigation continues, but the road is reopened.
