The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins dismantled the Belleville Senators 6-1 at CAA Arena on Friday night.
Keean Washkurak scored for the Senators.
The Penguins got off to a strong start with three unanswered first period goals. The senators came back to grab their only goal of the night in the second, but with two second period goals by the Penguins and a third period goal on top, the Penguins kept up their lead and won the game.
Belleville Senators head coach Dave Bell said that the team’s offence did well despite several players being called up to Ottawa due to injuries.
“That’s one thing that good teams do, they stick together and stick up for each other,” said Coach Bell. “That’s a non-negotiable for us; we play five tight at every whistle, and nobody takes liberties on our group, and those guys stepped up.”
The Senators are back in action on Sunday, hosting the Penguins again at CAA Arena.
