On January 6, 2025, at approximately 8:50 a.m. members of the Kingston Police Patrol Division responded to a report of an assault with a weapon at a local shelter located on Cowdy Street.
The victim was treated at scene for non-life-threatening injuries caused by an assault with a knife.
As a result of a subsequent investigation, 42-year-old Ryan Tonello of Orilla, Ontario is currently wanted by Kingston police for assault with a weapon and possession of weapons dangerous. His current whereabouts are unknown.
Tonello is described as a 42-year-old Caucasian male, with reddish-blonde hair and a scruffy beard. He was last seen wearing a grey hooded sweater, a dark motorcycle jacket and light-coloured ripped jeans.
Tonello is considered to be in possession of weapons dangerous to the public and has demonstrated that he is a threat to public safety. Caution needs to be exercised by anyone encountering him. If seen, do not approach, and contact 911 immediately.
