Northumberland Food For Thought (NFFT) is the recipient of a $3,000 donation from the Rotary Club of Cobourg.
NFFT says the contribution will play a vital role in supporting a discount at the online store for Student Nutrition Programs (SNP) across Northumberland County.
“The support from the Rotary Club of Cobourg demonstrates their commitment to fostering healthy communities by ensuring that students in Northumberland County have access to nutritious food,” says Beth Kolisnyk, Community Development Coordinator for PCFC, the Central East Lead for Student Nutrition Ontario, and committee member of NFFT. “This donation will make a meaningful impact by helping schools stretch their budgets further and continue to provide high-quality nutrition to students who need it most,” comments Kimberly Leadbeater, Registered Dietitian with HKPR District Health Unit and chair for Northumberland Food For Thought.
“The Rotary Club of Cobourg has been a steadfast partner in supporting local initiatives that strengthen the well-being of our community,” says Bruce Rennie, president, The Rotary Club of Cobourg. “We hope this donation will benefit the students who rely on SNPs for the nourishment they need to succeed in the classroom and beyond.”
Along with the support of residents, businesses, and organizations, local Student Nutrition Programs also receive financial support from the Ontario Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services through its lead local agency, Peterborough Child and Family Centres.
