The Director of Education for the Algonquin & Lakeshore Catholic District School Board says they are building a road map for the next half decade.
David DeSantis spoke to Quinte News about the process to create a multi-year strategic plan.
“We are required to have at least a three-year plan,” explains DeSantis. “We feel that going with a five-year plan that hits out key performance indicators is the best way forward.”
“We are getting feedback from key stakeholders, trustees, administration, educators, students, and parents,” he added.
Those providing feedback are being asked about the board’s priority areas of faith, equity and well-being, achievement and innovation, and resource management.
“Part of the way we have student voices represented is by a visual art assignment. We asked them ‘what does a dream day at school look like?’ “
It is believed input will be brought to the board of trustees for approval in the fall of 2025.
