The Rochester Americans smashed the Belleville Senators 7-4 on Friday night.
Angus Crookshank, Zack MacEwen, and Keean Washkurak scored for the Senators.
The Americans opened scoring early in the first period before the Senators grabbed their first a few minutes later. Both teams scored a second goal before the period ended. In the second, the Americans pulled ahead with three goals to the Senators’ one. In the final frame, the Senators scored one more goal, but the Americans scored twice, extending their lead and taking the win.
Belleville Senators head coach Dave Bell said that the team started the game strong.
“I think we had some missed opportunities and I don’t think we shot the puck enough,” said Coach Bell. “It was probably a missed opportunity to get more pucks on the net, but to get four is nice and to get two on the power play is nice.”
The Senators are hosting the Rochester Americans on Saturday at CAA Arena. The puck drops at 7 p.m.
