Dundas Street East in Belleville is blocked at this hour after a vehicle slammed into a hydro pole at around 10:35 this morning (Wednesday).
The collision, which occurred at the intersection with Burnham Street, caused a tree to catch fire and brought hydro wires down, causing localized power outages.
The vehicle was smoking and reports indicate there could be as many as 3 patients. Along with city police and firefighters Hastings Quinte Paramedic Services also responded to the scene.
Elexicon crews are working to restore power outages in the area with the latest estimated time of restoration being 7 p.m.
