Prince Edward County OPP have charged a person following what police called a “domestic related incident.”
Just before 10 p.m. on November 28, officers responded to a domestic dispute on Smokes Point Road.
Police arrived and spoke with the victim on scene.
An individual was arrested and charged before being released on conditions, including that they not communicate with the victim.
Upon release from custody and while awaiting transportation, the person was found to be violating the release conditions and was subsequently rearrested.
A 45-year-old from Prince Edward County was charged with assault with a weapon and fail to comply with an undertaking.
The name of the accused is being withheld to protect the identity of the victim.
The person was held for a bail hearing before the Ontario Court of Justice on Wednesday,
