The Belleville General Hospital Foundation has announced it has received over $21,000 from the Deadnersville Halloween Haunt.
Deadnersville was created by Lorne Holditch in memory of his wife Sheila.
In a release, BGHF says Deadnersville welcomed over 19,000 visitors, raising $21,544 in donations to support priority medical equipment at Belleville General Hospital.
“Never in my wildest dreams did I think Deadnersville would grow to this level,” said Lorne Holditch in the release.
“What started as a small way to honour Sheila has become something so much bigger — a way to give back to the hospital that cared for her with such compassion. I’ll be forever thankful to Belleville General Hospital for their incredible care, and as long as I’m able, I’ll continue doing this.”
Executive Director of the Belleville General Hospital Foundation, Steve Cook, praised Lorne’s dedication.
“Lorne’s incredible efforts with Deadnersville have created a legacy that touches thousands of lives every year,” Cook said in the release.
“His passion and commitment to honouring Sheila, while supporting our hospital, inspires us all. The $21,544 raised this year brings Lorne’s cumulative giving to over $72,000—a truly remarkable contribution to healthcare in our region.”
