The Belleville Senators bus was a little heavier on its return trip from Bridgeport Connecticut.
It was carrying an extra four points earned by the B-Sens following their two-game sweep over the Islanders including Sunday’s come-from-behind 3-2 win.
Belleville won 2-0 on Saturday night.
Stephen Halliday (2nd) and Wyatt Bongiovani (4th) scored three minutes apart midway in the third period to cap the comeback.
Belleville captain Garrett Pilon had two assists and liked the way his team responded following Wednesday’s 7-1 loss in Syracuse to open a five-game road trip.
Nikolas Metinpalo (2nd) also scored for the B-Sens.
Belleville improves to 9-4-0-4.
Belleville is in Winnipeg for two games against the Manitoba Moose Friday and Saturday night.
