Belleville firefighters made quick work of a cooking fire early Monday morning.
Grease caught fire at a house on May Avenue, off Gilbert Street, around 1:30 a.m.
The flames were doused quickly. A woman was taken to hospital with minor injuries.
Meanwhile, at around 9 o’clock Sunday night, firefighters from multiple halls responded to
Cressy Point in the far eastern section of Prince Edward County.
There had been reports of either a structure or a boat explosion near the water but a search by firefighters and OPP officers turned up nothing.
