Brighton council is expected to decide Monday how to fill the seat on council left vacant by the recent passing of Councillor Byron Faretis.
The options to fill a vacancy include a by-election, selecting the person who finished just out of the running in the 2022 election, calling for applications, or by appointing someone.
The next place finisher in the last election was William Schmidt.
