Power Outage – Motor Vehicle Collision
On November 29, 2024 at 5:20 a.m., Belleville police responded to a single motor vehicle collision on University Avenue. The vehicle struck two hydro poles and a power transformer exploded causing a power outage in parts of the east end of the city. The driver was treated with minor injuries by EMS and was released at the scene.
University Avenue remains closed as the collision investigation is currently ongoing. Hydro crews are on scene to repair the hydro poles and transformer and they advised that some residents could be without power for up to two to three hours.
Motor Vehicle Collision
On November 28, 2024 at 10:20 a.m., Belleville police attended a motor vehicle collision in the city’s east end, involving two vehicles. There were minor injuries reported but they were treated on scene. A 46-year-old male from Belleville, who was an involved driver was charged with change lane not in safety.” Both vehicles were not driveable and were towed from the scene.
