The forces honour, loved ones mourn

Lieutenant–Colonel Kent Miller was brought home Thursday.

Miller was in Belgium, serving under Operation Unifier, the program that trains Ukrainian military personnel in battlefield tactics and advanced military skills.

A repatriation ceremony was held at CFB Trenton late Thursday afternoon, as he was taken down the Highway of Heroes to Toronto.

It is with a heavy heart that Joint Task Force Ukraine announces the loss of one of our soldiers, Lieutenant-Colonel (LCol) Kent Miller.

LCol Miller was serving with Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe (SHAPE) in Casteau, Belgium, under Operation UNIFIER, when he passed away from medical complications on November 25, 2024.

LCol Miller was an Engineering Officer with 24 years of experience in the Canadian Armed Forces. He was most recently the Commanding Officer of 41 Combat Engineer Regiment in Alberta and was deployed to SHAPE in a planning and coordination capacity.

Our deepest condolences go out to the family and loved ones of LCol Miller.
