An amendment has been made to Belleville’s 2024 Capital Budget on how two new hybrid buses and a new mobility bus will be paid for.
On Monday, council approved reducing the long-term debt funding and increasing provincial gas tax funding by $1,347,000.
The combined cost of the two projects is $5,050,000 with the initial approved funding broken down as follows:
- $3,703,000 or 73.33% funded by the ICIP – Transit Grant
- $1,347,000 or 26.67% funded by Long-term Debt
Provincial Gas Tax allocations had not yet been finalized at the time of budget approval, limiting staff’s ability to fully allocate the funding.
