Prince Edward County OPP officers will be participating in this year’s Festive RIDE campaign.
The campaign will run from November 21st to January 1st.
Residents can expect to see officers out conducting RIDE program checks, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs remains a leading cause of vehicle accidents. Driving under the influence is a criminal offence.
The OPP advises anyone who uses drugs or alcohol to plan a way home that does not involve driving. Having a designated driver, use public transit, calling friends or family for a ride, or calling a taxi or ride share are alternatives driving impaired.
