The Loyalist Lancers women’s volleyball team put up a strong fight against the East Division’s first place, Seneca Sting on Saturday afternoon. After a commanding lead at the beginning of the game, the Lancers took the opening set but ultimately fell 3-1 (26-24, 17-25, 13-25, 21-25).
First year Lancer, Sydney Crawford led the offensive charge with 12 kills and four service aces, finishing with a team-high 16 points.
Despite the loss, the Lancers showed tremendous effort against a tough Sting squad.
The Lancers will look to get back in the win column when they hit the road for the Eastern road trip, seeking a rematch against the Algonquin Wolves and La Cite Coyotes on November 22 & 23.

The Loyalist Lancers men’s volleyball team delivered a stellar performance, defeating the Seneca Sting 3-1 (21-25, 25-18, 25-18, 25-14) on Saturday afternoon at Loyalist College.
After a slow start in the first set, the Lancers refocused and turned up the intensity both from the service line and at the net.
Second year Lancer, Liam Hill turned in a season-high game in an electric performance for the Lancers. Leading the team with 20 kills and a .581 hitting percentage, Hill showed impressive offensive prowess in both the front and back row.
The Lancers look to conitinue building on sucess when they travel to Ottawa on November 22nd and 23rd to take on the Algonquin Wolves and La Cite Coyotes.
