It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ronald Earl Cannons at Hospice Quinte on Monday, November 11, 2024, at the age of 77 years. Ron was a beloved husband to Carol (Joey) Cannons for 55 years, a dear father to Michelle Wood and her husband Mike of Carrying Place, and Jamie Cannons of Trenton. He was also a cherished grandfather to Sara Wood, Andrew Wood, and Jamie Cannons, and a dear brother to Alice Wellmer and her husband Will, as well as Doreen Broadbridge and her husband Stan.
Ron was a life member of the Kinsmen Club and was honored with the 50-year Kinsmen Club award for his dedicated community service. Ron’s dedication to his community was unwavering, and he took immense pride in giving back. His strong work ethic was evident in everything he did, always going above and beyond.
Despite his frugal nature, Ron was always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. His selflessness and generous spirit will be remembered by all who knew him. Ron’s loyalty to his family, friends, and community was unmatched, and he was always there to support and encourage those around him.
Ron was proud of his family’s accomplishments and took great joy in their successes. He was an avid sports enthusiast who loved playing all kinds of sports and was very athletic. Golf being his sport of choice in the later years. As a member of the Legion, he enjoyed playing crib and shuffleboard weekly with his friends.
At Ron’s request, cremation will take place. A celebration of his life will be held at the Weaver Life Centre, 29 Bay Street, Trenton, on Saturday, November 23, 2024, from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm. All our welcome. A private interment will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Kinsmen Club of Trenton Toy Drive or Quinte Hospice would be appreciated by the family.
