Brighton council has approved the rezoning of 4.4 hectares of vacant land to allow the construction of a long-term care home in the future.
The facility proposed by OMNI Quality Living Ltd. would be off Georgina Street just north of Dundas Street.
The building would be four storeys in height and would provide room for 256 seniors.
