A 21-year-old Ajax man is facing several drug charges after an incident Friday afternoon.
On Friday, November 8, 2024, officers were called to the area of Reid Street and Simcoe Street about suspicious activity.
Upon arrival, officers located a man matching the description given to police.
During the interaction, the man failed to produce valid identification and was taken into custody for obstructing police.
The man resisted arrest and would not let go of a backpack. During a search of the backpack after arrest, officers located and seized:
- 18.9 grams Methamphetamine
- 11.7 grams Cocaine
- 13.6 grams Fentanyl
- Drug paraphernalia
- Canadian currency
As a result of the investigation, a 21-year-old Ajax man was arrested and charged with:
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking- Other Drugs
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Methamphetamine
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine
- Obstruct Peace Officer
The accused was held in custody and appeared in Weekend and Statutory Holiday (WASH) court on November 9, 2024.
