Northumberland OPP have charged a driver with multiple offences following a complaint from a member of the public.
On November 9, 2024 at approximately 2:05 p.m., OPP received a 911 call regarding a passenger vehicle travelling north on County Road 45 in the Township of Alnwick/Haldimand. The caller advised the vehicle was swerving and unable to maintain its lane.
Officers stopped the described vehicle on County Road 35 in the Municipality of Trent Hills. Through investigation, the driver was found to be suspended from driving and subsequently placed under arrest. Police made an approved screening device (ASD) demand which was not complied with by the accused. Cannabis and unmarked cigarettes were also located as a result of the incident.
Glenn Chadband, 41 years old, from Campbellford, has been charged with:
– Failure of refusal to comply with demand
– Driving while under suspension
– Drive vehicle or boat with cannabis readily available
– Possess unmarked cigarettes.
In addition to a future court date, a further 90-day Administrative Driver Licence Suspension and a seven-day vehicle impound was initiated as per statute.
