Twenty-three-year-old Madoc native Dalton Bancroft, a junior forward with the Cornell Big Red, has been named ECAC Hockey’s Forward of the Week.
Bancroft scored three goals and an assist in games against Yale and Brown for the sixth ranked Big Red.
The former captain of the Trenton Golden Hawks is also getting attention from NHL scouts and attended the development camp of the Boston Bruins.
Bancroft is a graduate of the Quinte Red Devils and also played for the Wellington Dukes.
Dalton Bancroft’s father Steve, a member of the Belleville Sports Hall of Fame, was a defenseman with the Belleville Bulls and a first round draft pick of the Toronto Maple Leafs in 1989.
