Kingston police have issued a warning about a taxi scam in which suspects steal victims’ bank cards.
They say a fake taxi — a silver sedan with an orange light on top — was set up outside a Queen’s University building in the early morning hours of October 27.
Police say at least two Queen’s students were then asked to pay for someone else’s fare with their debit card in exchange for cash.
Later that day, both students found their debit cards had been switched and unauthorized charges had been made at an ATM.
