The Belleville Senators crushed the Syracuse Crunch 6-2 on Saturday.
Cole Reinhardt, Angus Crookshank, Nikolas Matinpalo, Donovan Sebrango, and Matthew Highmore scored for the Senators.
The Senators got off to an explosive start with three unanswered goals in the first period. The Crunch got on the board with a goal in the second, but the Sens took one of their own as well. During the third, the Senators tallied up two more goals, and while the Crunch grabbed a last second goal with less than a minute on the clock, it wasn’t enough to catch up and the Senators took the win.
Belleville Senators Assistant Coach Andrew Campbell said the team played really strong for the entire 60-minute game.
“Guys were making the right decisions all night whether it was with the puck or without the puck,” said Campbell. “We were getting pucks behind them, we were sticking to the structure, and every guy was competing. Like I said, a really good 60-minute effort, impressed with the guys.”
The Senators are back in action on Friday to host the Laval Rocket.
