Quinte West City Council will consider a funding ask from the National Air Force Museum of Canada.
In a delegation to council, MajGen (ret’d) Colin Keiver says the museum is looking to expand so that it can house a Lancaster Bomber currently on display at Base31 in Picton.
The ask would be $500,000 for each of the next four years for a total of $2 million.
Keiver says given the budget pressures the city faces, the museum would be “appreciative and receptive” to any potential capital grant over the next four years.
Council approved considering the ask at its next budget meetings which are scheduled for December 4 and 5.
